Burning shame
Feel the pain
A fiery flame
Burns inside out
Drives him insane
She wears the mark
A constant spark
That reminds her of
Her forbidden love
She learns to endure
She learns to be strong
He remains weak
With something wrong
He needs to bring it into the light
He needs to bring it into their sight
But still he’s frozen with fright,
The guilty conscience takes its bite
He must get past the trite
And bring his shame into the light.
