Some Smiles

I am showing smiles, cause they keep getting smiles back, and those smiles attack, my walls of sadness, revealing gladness, filling me again, with heart of blood and life beneath this skin, and if I'm not too sad, cause I have to go, to new faces, I can dare to show,
some smiles

don't hold on too tight,
don't become too greedy,
let these moments be light,
be grateful not needy,

it's true, tomorrow might not be as good as today, but if you fill yourself with sorrow you'll probably be sad either way, There's so much pain of others, that we need to feel, but if we cannot smile, how on earth are we supposed to heal,
I can't fight evil on my own, nobody can,
so although we are not perfect, and come take my hand,
and show some smiles,
and show some smiles,

don't hold on too tight,
don't become too greedy,
let these moments be light,
be grateful not needy,

not to distract from the urgency,
not to detract from the empathy,
we must react to the enemy,
we must attack this vile industry,
but in the midst of our fight and concern,
we have lost, if we don't let hope burn,
like a fire,
catching all the dead on the ground,
leaping from branch to branch,
till it's the only sound,
and with that in mind,
don't let your joy unwind,
reach beside you to find,

some smiles.
